Csókolom

The standard Hungarian greeting when crossing someone on the street is "Csókolom", particularly from a man to a woman. The greeting literally means "I kiss it" as in "I kiss your hand". Sometimes the greeting flies between women or between men and often between complete strangers.

Now imagine transplanting this to North American culture:

- Hello.
- I kiss it.
(Smack)

End of story.

  1. Hell, if someone tried saying 'csokolom' they'd probably get smacked anyway. Makes ya wonder: What's up with us uptight North Americans, don't it?!;)
