David Cerny Gallery

After meeting Julia in the Old Town Square, we walked a short block to a gallery which featured works by Czech artist David Cerny. The giant 4 revolvers pointed at one another were evocative of the United Nations' sculpture on non violence. The mini sculpture of the dead horse ridden by good King Wenceslas (yes, the one from the Xmas carol) was a little freaky. The original King Wenceslas statue was erected in Wenceslas Square in the early 20th C with an upright King Wenceslas protecting his citizens. Then along came Cerny to mix it up with his parody in which the good king is riding the dead horse's belly. The parody now hangs from the art nouveau domed ceiling of a nondescript pedestrian passageway in the Lucerna Shopping Arcade.
Cool you found the horse I sent you :)
