Wenceslas Square

Next to the National Museum is Wenceslas Square, where demonstrations, parades, addresses and all manner of public fanfare were carried out. The square is also notorious for Nazi demonstrations during WWII and later for skirmishes that eventually led to the fall of the Communist regime in 1989. Good King Wenceslas towers over the square whilst only a few blocks away in a glitzy art nouveau shopping plaza, art prankster David Cerny's interpretation of the king rides his dead horse's belly while hanging from the ceiling.
