Provocative

Also housed in the same Gallery as the David Cerny works was a piece that was quite provocative. It was a spin on a bear skin rug, only a springer spaniel subbed in for the bear. OK, so bear skin rugs don't exactly pass in society without comment but substituting the figure of a household pet in lieu of a wild animal certainly got the message across loud 'n clear...even if it wasn't the real thing. (I'll start making monthly contributions NOW to a taxidermy fund to get my kitties stuffed when the time comes!!!)

David Cerny also put together a sculpture called "Shark" in which a waxen likeness of Sadam Hussein floats dead in his gotchies. U figure it out!

  2. Yeah I'd recommend getting your kitties stuffed for sure - thinking of baron von what's-his-name in Bitov castle with his roomful of stuffed dogs perchance?? that's gotta beat the crap out of the spaniel floor rug I'd say. Seriously, you gotta go and check it out. And Bitov is practically on the way to Vienna! sort of. :o)

  3. Can you imagine stuffing the heads of every animal you've ever eaten and putting them on a wall like they have in hunting trophy rooms? HA! You would need a gigantic building! - Talk about creepy -

"Oh yea...I killed that set of pigs in '97 - big backyard barby, I think the middle one was a little tough though"
